Blue Beauty

The new addition was trimmed and then sided with pre-painted clapboards. Many skylights, new shingles, and even solar panels came with a new roof. A vegetable garden bed sits directly in front of the original house.

Welcoming Entryway

Left: The original staircase greets visitors as they walk into the entryway. New newel posts give a nod to the home’s original charm, and white oak flooring with radiant heat allows for a warm welcome. Right: Accent wallpaper and a compact blue built-in cabinet neatly fill a small alcove between the front foyer and the kitchen—perfect for showcasing accent pieces or storing cocktail ware.

Warm and Spacious Kitchen

The former living room is converted into the kitchen, including the brick fireplace with a reclaimed wood beam built by Charlie Silva. The rustic wood mantle and the face bricks are new, but the fireplace was likely built in the 1940s. The 12-foot kitchen island provides seating for up to six people. The team added vibrant blue quartzite and a wraparound white oak countertop to keep the island looking cozy and warm.

Spectacular Great Room

Views of the great room can be seen from the top of the new stairwell that connects the old part of the house to the new addition. The custom area rug features a traditional colonial braided style, which fits nicely into the rest of the home’s updated decor.

Private Office-Space

A traditional-style private office with a light-filled bay window is created in the original house to give homeowner Lincoln a relaxing space to work.

Cozy Guest Quarters

The guest quarters remain primarily unchanged, staying true to the original cape feel of the house. The team installed new windows, plaster, and fresh paint to give the bedroom a new life.

Vibrant Blue-Tiled Bathroom

Blue and teal hex tile in the kids’ bathroom brightens up the space. A sharp floating vanity keeps the room uninterrupted and modern.

Fresh and Cheerful Laundry Room

Colorful bird wallpaper accents one wall of the laundry room. The pale green cabinet and farmhouse sink add style and functionality to the space, while a skylight above pours in natural light.

Private Primary Suite

The primary bedroom features stunning cathedral ceilings and sweeping views of the property outside. A sitting area with a blue tufted chaise lounge (right) provides a cozy place to read or relax. Tadelakt lime plaster walls give a soothing feeling to the primary bathroom. The quartzite double vanity (left) resembles marble. Radiant heating in both the walls and the floor help keep all of the cool air at bay. The luxurious soaking tub (right) sits under the window for another look at the views outside.
